The event will showcase leading innovations and technologies alongside arts and cultural exchange, to promote trade cooperation between Thailand and Taiwan. The event is being held August 30 - September 1, 2018 at Event Hall 99, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), Bang Na, Bangkok.

Mr. James C.F. Huang, Chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), shared the event highlights. “This is the first Taiwan Expo 2018 in Thailand. We have brought innovative products and technology, highlighting seven themes; Smart City, Green Tech, Health Care, Culture, Talents & Tourism, Agricultural Tech and Good Living, and we’re facilitating business matching and ten industry forums to create trade opportunities and knowledge exchange between our two countries.”

Mr. Shu-Tien Liu, President of the Thai-Taiwan Business Association, stated that various industries are ripe for exchanging business knowledge and experience, such as science and technology, agricultural innovation, medical technology and education. “More than 200 exhibitors will present their products and businesses to illustrate Taiwan's diverse industries. This is a great opportunity for both Thai consumers and entrepreneurs to experience digital lifestyle innovations, and garner Taiwan's local wisdom in various spheres. We hope to establish long-term and mutually beneficial relations between Thailand and Taiwan.”

Mr. Sutichai Bunditvorapoom Director of Convention Department Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), pointed out that Taiwan Expo 2018 will help strengthen the relationship between Thailand and Taiwan in terms of trade and economy. “The purpose of Taiwan Expo 2018 goes beyond showcasing Taiwanese cultural technology; the organizers also aim to promote international trade for both sides. With business opportunities being generated from the event, I hope it becomes a source of cooperation for investors in the future and I hope Taiwan Expo is held again in Thailand next year.”

Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of the Board of Investment (BOI), shared his views on this special event. “This is a reflection of the economic expansion that has seen the bustle of inventors, manufacturers and distributors, and a response to the needs of consumers. This might just be one of those collaborative events in Asia that should not be missed by people in business circles.”

Product highlights not to be missed include:

iTrash - The intelligent trash machine that clears up waste and manages recycling using a Cloud and IoT-based system. iTrash integrates electronic tickets and mobile payment tools for personal garbage disposal fees and collecting rewards, and creates an intelligent garbage recycling environment.

Switchable Smart Laminated Glass – Intelligent glass with a transparent surface designed to save energy. It can be made opaque for privacy purposes and supports both indoor and outdoor design.
